IDC ministers and churches have another opportunity to attend the “Church Safety, Security, and Risk Management” Seminar in 2017. The seminar is being offered on two dates in two locations centrally located for District regions. The first will be held on Tuesday, March 14, at Abundant Life Community Church in Alton. The second will be offered on Thursday, March 16, at Evangel Church in Hanover Park. The one-day seminar goes from 9am to 5pm.
The seminar is geared toward lead pastors, church administrators, board members, elders, and other church leaders. It will help churches identify critical risk areas and offer practical, proven techniques stemming from “best practices” in churches nationwide.
Topics covered will include How to Identify and Recruit Volunteers, How to Screen Volunteers, How to Respond to Church Emergencies, and a legal briefing to identify your church’s greatest areas for exposed risk.
Cost to attend is $60 per person, which includes lunch and seminar materials. Spouses can attend for $10 to cover lunch.
Instructors include Bob Johnson, a security expert who leads safety & security efforts at Christ’s Church of the Valley in Peoria, Arizona, and Bob Wild, who serves as Senior director of Strategic Alliances for Brotherhood Mutual Ins. Company. They will be joined by other experts, as well.
